Start-Up

I was wondering what the minimum number of programs that need to be running for a computer to run correctly. My problem is that my wife has installed all kinds of crap on my comp and now when I start-up there are a ton of things running in the background. I can turn some of them off but I am unsure ...

Okay lets then take this one step further. Assuming I get either the 4600 or 4200, which manufacturer would you recommend. I have read alot of reviews and it seems Gainward and Visiontek get the best reviews, but I think I trust the opinions here more.

Sleep. Why not the 4600 Ti? Just wondering if there was a reason why you would chose the 4200 Ti. I have the nice option of price not being a consideration if that was your reasoning.

GOOD POINT!! Never thought of it from that point of view. What's the point of having the power if you cant use it. I will have to check the specs but I think you are right about the AGP port. And if thats the case now we are talking about a whole system revamp which I really don't want to do right ...

Upgrading CPU

I currently have an AMD 1.4 as my processor. My motherboard will support up to a 1.8. So that got me to thinking about what I would need to do if I wanted to upgrade. So my question is can I upgrade my CPU without having to reinstall windows? Could I just update the motherboard drivers and bios and ...

BlackJesus666 are you sure about that. If I remember you dont receive a xp penalty when you have a favored class as long it is only 1 other class you have levels in. If you had a character that had levels in fighter and cleric (no xp penalty). But if you had levels in fighter, cleric and rogue you ...

Let me see if I understand. So then what you are saying is that if he has a file saved to a CD-R and he opens it up. He modifies that particular file then when he saves it to the CD-R again it will not re-write/replace that file, instead it will put a new updated version of the file on the CD-R. SO ...

Cd-r Vs Cd-rw

TODAY I WAS ASKED BY A CO-WORKER ABOUT WHAT KIND OF CD WOULD BE BETTER TO USE WHEN THEY WENT ON TRAVEL. THEY ARE WORKING ON A PRESENTATION AND ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO WORK ON IT. SO AFTER I THOUGHT ABOUT IT I WASN'T EXACTLY SURE HOW EACH FORMAT WORKS. I TOLD THEM WHAT I THINK IS THAT A CD-R WILL BE ...

The OS is windows 98 and from what my friend says this problem only started in the last couple of months. He has had the system for a while now. Can this problem spring up or would it be happening from the start?
