stuck after turning corner

I have made it here a couple of times and I turn right and I get stuck and can't make it the reservoir 2. It is like I get hung up on the top of the tunnel. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Elevator

I have made many attempts. I have clicked on the up arrow of the elevator and have waited for it to come down. I have done other quest thinking that I have to complete something else before I can move on. I have finished as many quests as I can leaving those two but now I must complete ...

I am unable to complete 2 quests, Boris and Fun with Pestilence for some reason I am unable to go up in the elevator in the Empire Hotel. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so please let me know how to get by this. Thanks

I am not playing with any patches or any cheats. I have gotten the quest from her but like someone had told me in a previous thread. There is a certain way of slashing the pictures. So, I guess I will try again.

I read that I am to receive a knife from Jeanette but I looked through my inventory and there is nothing there. Only the one that I have had since the beginning of the game. Should I have a new one? Also, I tried using my knife in the Gallery Noir to destroy the paintings and nothing happens to them ...
