But the problem actually turned out to be a rather largish abrasion in the CD itself, causing access to data1.cab to be denied. After returning the game and swapping out CD1, I'm up and running. Have yet to pop into a multiplayer game, though. Mayhaps soon

Can't Even install ...
Anyone else have any sort of problem installing on a W2k machine? The Autorun pops up fine, but when I click "Install", it acts like it's loading for a couple moments ...
