I left him at his cabin, but when I came back I couldn't see him there. I tried checking his house, and upstairs when I arrived I thought I saw him standing there, but then he was gone. Is it possible he made himself invisible?

So I found Valygar but I didn't want to do the Planar Sphere yet, so I told him I would help him later. The problem is I don't remember where I said I would meet him. He's not in his cabin or house, nor is he in the Copper Coronet. Any ideas as to where I might be able to find him?
