Many thanks for the help guys, it must of been a corrupted auto-save that was causing the problem as after i deleted it things seem fine, luckily i had quick saved it shortly before as well!

Thanks for the avice, now how do i do that?
Would it mean i'd lose my save game as well?

I've just suddendly started experiencing an error when i attempt to load a game, i have ToB installed and when i select Load Game from the main menu i get "An Assertion failed in ChVidImage3d.cpp at line number 1957".

Before that i started getting a major error in Windspear Hills, i'd load the game ...
