Thanks for the tip about Shadowkeeper, it worked like a charm. The temptation, of course, was to give myself all kinds of other items and beef up my character...but I resisted, I'm trying to beat this game fairly, the first time through anyway...

I did not read the walkthrough before doing the Unseeing Eye quest and killed the guy with the key before getting it.
