howdy. I just started playing Baldurs Gate, I got an older version of Ebay. the game locks up pretty frequently on my computer. I am running Windows 98. Is there a website where I could look and see if maybe there are some patches I could install to make the game behave a little better?

I downloaded and installed the VIA driver you mentioned and it didnt help at all. In fact, all it did for me, was make "save game" and "load game" take about ten times as long.

I can play fairly well without the "generating exception" error if I dont use the summoned creatures..... I get too much ...

i'm playing singleplayer right now. does the Fury's eye have no use in singleplayer game?

I'm already at the Ruined Temple, where youput the artifact on the altar and all the zombies in the graveyard.... I did not find the Warding Staff yet..... have i missed it? Do I need to backtrack?

oh. OK. I ran into the exact same cicrumstances as the first poster. Missed a couple of quests I guess, messing around in the ice caves or whatever, never found a couple of things I was looking for, just played on into the forest and swamp... then found this Furys Eye.

i get "exception generated" errors pretty frequently. frequently enough so that i pretty much am in the habit of saving the game after almost every little battle.

I cant figure out what causes the hang up... I disable almost everything else running on the machine when i play. All I can figure out ...

I found this Fury's Eye thing and so far have not found any use for it. I'm in the Ruins of the Temple. somehow I managed to miss a couple of quests in the previous act, I missed clearing out the house north of Glacern,. and I never found the North Tower thing.

OK, thanks, good to know. Question is, I assume its better to land a blow with a smaller weapon, than to miss with a bigger weapon. How much of an increase of "to hit" to you get with a +1 to melee skill boost?
