So basically it uses up what (paltry) spells the wizard already has memorized?

Do the spells used in either trigger or (either) contigency have to be memorized, or just known?

Yeah, that's way too much micromanagement for me. I'd rather have 1 - 2 mages with good spells, but the problem is I don't even know what spells are good for them to have. Plus, I find that mages are constantly obliterated in the game by backstabbers and instant-death magic. I've had to revive Arie ...

Yeah I know. All the enemies kill you in 2 hits and cast time stop and finger of death your party members with seemingly no saving throw granted and blow you to pieces. Or simply sneeze and kill your PC. So you have to run around and get all these +7 items and even then you only last 30 seconds ...

I find this game to be... too hard to be fun. :( Advice?

Hey everyone. I'm playing ToB for the second time, with my Blade that I've played through BG1 and SoA. He's been doing "okay" so far... really, I've found that Blades have less than mediocre fighting ability (sure, you got spins... but only a few times a day), mediocre spellcasting, and horrible ...

I'm just wondering who I should use for a thief after Yoshimo is gone and I have Imoen back. I'm wondering if her thieving skills will be enough for ToB. I was thinking of editing her to have the same stats she has when she completes BG1, which is usually trapskills and lockskills in the 90's.

I ...

I usually play

Jahiera (romance)
Minsc (muscle, comic relief)
Yoshimo (plotline)
Aerie (come on, she's a great healer and awesome spellcaster)
And in the last slot whoever I pick up for whatever quest... Anomen, Nalia, Keldorn, etc. Keldorn seems a bit weak to me. I'm not sure.

Well, I played Icewind Dale II, and I have to say that from what I see I like 3E a lot for a lot of reasons, but for other reasons it seems to "messy" and a lot of things are menial.

Are there actually "kits" and "HLA" in D&D?

Just out of curiousity, I was wondering if there were class kits in DnD and if there were also High Level Abilities in DnD. The reason I ask is because I know BG1 follows the rules closely (with a few modifications for real-time playability) but BG2, which also sues 2nd ED rules, bends them a bit ...

Swashbuckler, or Blade? Compare

I was thinking instead of powergaming and playing a fighter with 18/00 or a mage with 18 intelligence or a sorcerer or something (like I usually do), I'll do somethign I've never done and play "weaker" class.

So far the two that appeal to me are either Blade, or Swashbuckler.

I understand the ...

My Plan: Advice Needed

I plan to play the series from Candlekeep to the end of TOB without using cheats (haven't played the game without cheats in a long time!) but heavily altered via TuTu and the fix/tweak packs.

So here are my questions:
After installing BG1+ToTSC and BG2+ToB, what is the order of installing TuTu, the ...
