Tough call. I would consider Batman CG. Robin Hood was always the archetype of CG in... err.. 1st or 2nd edition, and I think of Batman the same way. I think the disagreement is in the obvious flaw that has always existed in the alignment table.

I'm not really seeing the wizard class being useful ...

I think leveling will be a big mechanic to work out. You can just make it relatively simple with a fairly normal party, and then hand out special abilities. The questin is how the special abilities vary with level. Are they constant, or do they grow? To me, comic book heroes don't keep getting ...

I'm not familiar with "tiles," but for a battle map I had an architect friend of mine print out a 2ft by 3ft sheet of paper with hex grids. Each hex is about half an inch between opposite corners. Then we had it laminated at Kinkos.

It works very well with wet erase markers. I can draw whatever I ...

Just one character? Tricky. It depends on how much of a challenge. With just one character, the battle might be decided simply by who wins the spot check.

A premade module is always easy, it's not my choice. I'll tell you how I and other people I play with do things, but it probably won't help you out too much.

The first thing is to decide whether to use a premade world or a custom. I honestly wouldn't say which is easier. If you go for a premade ...

I guess I'll bump this very old thread that was recently bumped not that long ago.

I love the idea of a premade world. I think it works out pretty well so long as you start small and then go big. I basically had a world created but when I started DMing my players insisted I use a premade world ...

Meh. I switched it up the DM role when I was in middle school for a very short stint. That's as close as I'm getting, and that's probably why I didn't play again until I got to college. "Don't knock it until you try it" only goes but so far. I haven't tried running up to the president to give him a ...

Of course I can only give my own opinion, and my opinion is that it's horrible. I suppose it may work even keeping the same characters if you truly reach the end of a complete adventure, but it requires open characters with no one holding something back from the party.

To me a campaign is not a ...

Sorry, but... you change DMs through one plot line? That's the worst idea I've ever heard. I suppose if you're playing modules in a hack and slash method it could work, but it still sounds horrible. The DM needs to own the world from beginning to end. If you want to change DMs, have shorter ...

To be fair, this was near the beginning of the campaign (first or second level) and he was new to D&D, but this guy decided to be a Paladin.

We were welcomed visitors of the elves, staying in their city. For about 10 minutes for each player, we went did our own little thing in the city. Someone ...
