I think your reputation level has a bearing on whether characters stick around once you ask them to leave the party. If you have a high reputation and you ask Edwin or Viconia to leave I think they will disappear for good.

If all else fails I think you could use Gatekeeper (or is it Swordcoastkeeper?) to shift your party into Ulgoth's Beard. You can download it from the Sorcerers Place if you don't already have it and it is very straightforward to use.

If I remember right you need to go upstairs in Feldeposts Inn in Beregost. There's a guy there who has a map that will reveal the bandit camp.

Just to add something to my previous comment, I don't think just installing the English language version will solve this. I think the problem is that you have a disc designed for the UK rather than the European market and so you will need to find the correct patch to overcome this.

Hi Gawain, I've always hated the BG2 avatars and paper dolls so I was thinking of doing this as well. Has it worked okay? Also d'you happen to know whether you download the file into the BG2 override?
