Where is my stronghold? I thought since I'm in the Imperial legion I can hoarde my stuff inthe treasure chests scattered inside of Fort Gnisis. But When I take these stuff stuff out, the guards accuse me of stealing from them

I'm stuck in an Imperial Legion mission revolving around the smuggling activities of Drinar Varyon. I'm asked to search his house for Dwemer artifacts but even if i kill Varyon and unlock the treasure chests in his house there wasn't any artifacts to be found. People in Ald-ruhn aren't helping much ...
