not a great sword

the Holy Avenger is a "great" long sword...my paladin can equip it alongside a shield - of course I can't get out of the cemetary to do anything with it but that is another point

I was wondering if it was because I set a couple of delayed blast fireballs on the exact arrival place of one of the lost ones - he dies instantly and maybe that doesn't trigger something in the game to allow the exits to become available once they're all dead - i.e ...

Has anyone managed to get the holy avenger AND get out the graveyard ?

I finally managed to kill the ridiculous heavies that appear once the holy avenger sword appears in the graveyard in Kuldahar....but then the exit from the graveyard doesn't give me the exit icon !!! can;t get out...and after ...
