P.S. What does the writing on the World Map say?
(I assume it's notes about 'here be evil' etc, but it's hard to decipher!)

You might well be right about restarting, because my failed game used a bunch of starting characters generated before I installed the temple.dll extension.

So I've created new characters with temple.dll installed and they are certainly using the extension (e.g. the Sorceror gets 1 magic missile per ...

I do appreciate your help, but it's still not working.

1. I copied the other files that came with temple.dll into the same ToEE directory that I put temple.dll in. No joy.

2. Next there is a ToEE folder called 'data', so I copied the extra files in there too.

Sadly the game still ...

I'm not sure where you took the .dll from, but I think you generally need to do more than just replace the .dll. For instance, with the temple.zip fix, you must add rules for the magic missile spell, etc. This is because the .dll file references other files, and sometimes files that don't exist in ...

Heh, yeah, well the rules are pretty much D&D 3.5, which I still play. I just hope I remember the idiosyncrasies of ToEE and don't lead you astray! :D

No problem, my party has now reached 9th level and all the Fighters have +3 weapons with Frost and Shock as well. :D

(I'm still playing 1st ...

Weapons

This is all great stuff - it's tremendous to be getting advice so many years after the game came out! :D

OK, so once a character has the Craft Arms + Armour Feat, that's all they need to make magic weapons? N.B. According to their level/3 (e.g. level 6 allows a +2 weapons).

How do I ...

making items

OK, thanks for offering to help!

Now my party includes an Lawful Evil Cleric and a Sorceror.
Since they've reached 3rd level, I thought I'd have a go at a Wondrous Item , so gave them both that Feat .
The Cleric can cast spells like Bull's Strength and Bear's Endurance , so the only ...

You should also be able to click some symbol or other on their portrait to remove them from the party.

Aha - I'll try that next time. :)

Meanwhile Furnok has duly disappeared after resting 3 times...

P.S. I'd like to do some weapon crafting this time (once I get up enough levels) and I've ...

I may have answered my own question...

I had to marry Fruella (in order to persuade Terjon to allow a conversion).
As my party is evil (and she's annoying  ), I put her up front for a combat and she died (allowing me to loot her items).
She stayed 'dead-but-with-the-party' until I rested 3 ...

Can I drop a sneakily murdered NPC?

I've just finished the game with an LG party (thanks for the help here! e.g. maps) and am trying again with an LE party.

So I thought I'd try recruiting Furnock, then killing him for his items. I managed to bump him off (had to use thrown weapons and spells, since he was an 'ally'), then I took all ...

I loaded the 'humble NPC' patch and thus persuaded Otis to drop his redundant suits of armour (etc). :)

The adventure continued, but then my party couldn't pick up treasure. :(

So I reran patch #2 - no improvement, except I took the opportunity to buy Otis loads of leather gloves and boots ...

Holy Mace (from Calmert)

Having saved up, I've bought the Holy Mace (+1) from Calmert for my LG  party.
What does it do?!

Having looked further, I see there is a patch here that allows you to get NPCs to drop or sell stuff.
Excellent!
(Sorry I didn't see it earlier...)

how to get NPC to drop stuff that slows him

Hi there - I've just discovered this site! :)

I'm playing with Otis as an NPC in my party. He fights well, but is carrying several suits of non-magical armour, so is slowed.
When I try to sell or drop them, I get the message 'NPC will not drop that item'.

I realise that the game doesn't want you ...
