The lockpicking mini game is fairly easy and lockpicks are pretty easy to come by.

As per the RP aspect... well... I don't think that Bethesda gave that a whole lot of thought. Um... well... how about you need dextrous fingers to cast spells, so it makes sense you're able to finesse open a lock ...

Also, there appear to be no "Rats" in Skyrim, there are "Skeevers" which are... well... rats. But not called "rats!" And the starting dungeon is not full of them. Hooray!

You can do either.

You can wield a weapon in each hand, a two handed weapon, a weapon and a spell or TWO spells. And with the right perk, you can dual-cast a spell for added power. I've found that pulling out a sword is effective once you've run out of Magicka... but unless you beef up your ...

I like the old voices better too, but it's possible the first actors weren't available to record all the lines or that they were too expensive. I doubt CDP would skimp on voice actors though, so I doubt the latter. Could have been that whoever ran the English vocalization just liked the new guys ...

Witcher 2 subtitles

This might be a dumb question, but how the crap do you turn off subtitles in The Witcher 2? I hate subtitles unless I'm playing in foreign language, and I can't figure out how to turn them off.

I also posted this on the GOG forums and they told me to delete the contents of the Baldurs Gate II\cache and Baldurs Gate II\temp folder and it fixed the issue.

Majorman, before I posted the question and I tried loading the map from the console and I got the same issue. Probably should have ...

Problem with BG2 after power failure.

Hello,

I was recently about 10 hours into a game of BG2 when I was in a particular map (Bodhi's Lair level 1) and my house suffered a power failure. I reloaded BG2 once I had power to find that the auto-save placed only moments prior (BG2 autosaves into and out of Bodhi's lair level 1) was ...

Not to be the harbinger of bad news, but...

@ Sayne

Don't forget level scalling in DA, which is never a good thing

You're right, I did forget about DA's enemy scaling (I assume that's what you mean).

DA's scaling wasn't as bad as, say, Oblivion. I consider Oblivion unplayable without something like Oscuro's Overhaul to remove the ...

This is a great conversation.

RPGguy I agree with your analysis of BG2, it is an unparalleled masterpiece.

You said that you were moving on to Dragon Age. DA is good, the story is rich and the characters and their interactions are very entertaining. Some of the party members rival the character ...

I'm sure someone will come up with a mod to allow you to buy stuff at the emporium after Wade's made the armor.

Am I the only one that thought it was ridiculous that you can't buy anything at Wade's Emporium after you've had two sets of armor made, even if you pay for them?

I mean, does EVERYTHING in this game have a manufactured trade-off? Come on, that's just asinine.

Sorry, that was kind of a douche baggy thing of me to say.

The quests do seem MMORPGish, but more glaring is the way the quest-givers stand around blankly staring at you with a big yellow 3D "!" over their heads. Rather jarring, actually. Though you can turn off the "!"s.

In terms of immersion, where Dragon Age falls short for me (other than the yellow 3D ...

Hey, I never said it was a GOOD theory. I'm mostly bitter I've had to wait for a game that's been complete since May so BioWare could release it on Xbox.

I bought the Steam Deluxe edition, so no NPC telling me to buy stuff for me. ^_^

You can thank the Consoles for forcing the NPC to be in the game before you downloaded the DLC. If it were just a PC game (or if it had been launched in MAY when the PC version was done...) the conspicuous NPC wouldn't have to be there, he could just pop up.

That's one theory.

The other theory I ...

I wasn't even considering anyone would still use the old manual install of Tutu. I guess if you install in a language other than English you have to use Tutu 4.0? I don't know. I'm a yank and play my games in English, so I always just use EasyTutu.

You CAN run BG1 Tutu without Tutufix and the G3 ...

EasyTutu will allow you to play a Sorcerer. Never tried BGT.

Installation order for mods shouldn't matter, as long as they don't conflict and you install the patches first. Unfinished Business might also be worth looking at.

Playing a Sorcerer is tough in BG1 TUTU. You have to either bite the ...

Well that's poop-tastic...

I had several (by several I mean a LOT) of Top Quality potion, oil and bomb bases saved for a rainy day in my storage. As well as enough ingredients to supply an army.

That's what I get for being a pack rat.
