True, leaders should stay at the back - in reality. But this is a fantasy game. In almost every fantasy genre, novel or film (almost every) the leader is a warrior.

In the forgotten realms (the setting of this game) heroic fighters are the best leaders of small groups...Drizzt, Bruenor Battlehammer ...

Staff of magi doesn't count, the question was referring to BG1. Also rangers and paladin are warrior, they are just specialised fighters.

Magic wielders are awesome, no doubt, they own. but the leader should be a fighter, a brave warrior leads by charging into battle,, whilst his mage supports him.

I've been using my Horn of Kazgaroth for some time now, i heard that if you sell it back to Thalantyr and rebuy it it gets new charges.

Thalantyr wanted to buy it from me for 19,659,300 GP......19,659,300!!!

I sold it to him, and he only wanted the normal selling price for it, leaveing me over 19 ...

Although you can win with any character, as far as im concerned you should be a fighter.

You need to be the hero and leader of your party, who better than a dashing brave warrior.

All the best items are for fighters and it means you can tank the damage whilst your companions shoot form behind, a ...

Problem solved, just pick pocketed him, got all is cool stuff, then spoke to him.

I was under the impression that once yo had vanquished Aec'Letec, in ulgoth's beard, you recieved some nifty bits from Hurgan.
Namely a Hammer +1 +4 vs Giants

But when i speak to him, i only have one option to reply, and that is asking for now reward.

I dont know about soloing, but I completed this game without a walkthorugh the first time round, back when it came out.

I was about 12 at the time, i missed loads of cool items, mini quests etc...but i completed each chapter and ultimately beat sarevok.

I didn't even know what a walkthrough was ...

solved it, just donwload the Official TOTSC patch...duh

I have done everything I am supposed to and it has all worked, until now. Even if I take the 3 Wardstones, Durlag Doplegangers do not appear.

If I take the wardstones, the nearby door begins to spasm between being locked and unlocked. The temple door doesn't open and no Durlag dopple gangers appear ...
