Honestly, I didn't feel like the story of BG1 was anything special. Sure, it had it's highlights, but it was more "loose" whereas BG2's story is more focused...

It's the other way around. BG2 is all about the side quests and the main quest is pretty short.

BG1 is much better game in my opinion.
