talk to tahvo first

Well, I figured out the problem, in case anyone else comes across this. You need to resport to Tahvo and tell him you've completed the Barrow Wight quest. When you return to the Wood after that, the SE path will suddenly be available!

I'm at the center of Fell Wood - where the corpse is - and cannot continue through. There is only one exit - the same by which I entered and it takes me out of the wood. I've completed the former quests including the barrow wight and am trying to get to the ghost lights. I've left and returned ...
