I played almost all of BG1 to get my Halberd +2.

All the points here are good and valid but what I would like to see is a new game starting from level 1, but with this huge cap of level 40 or whatever. No cap at all would be even better, but I don't know if this would be possible. Since they now say they've done level 40 I'm assuming that is ...

I killed Firkraag without much toruble, but I had played a lot of the game before I met him. There is the friendly white/silver (not sure which) dragon that makes your party look like Drow. If you attack, that seemed a VERY hard fight. Comments?

Yeah I'm pretty sure you do. I'm a level 16 Kensai and I dual-wield two axes on max proficiency. I seem to be getting the bonuses - I can at least use Kai ability. I'd have to experiment a little to be absolutely certain about the rest.

Surprisingly, this happened to my character in BG1, sort of. He was a Ranger, but he had boots of speed and then suddenly they just stopped working for him. If I put them on someone else they worked, but on him they were useless. I can't remember quite when it happened but it WAS strange.

Excellent news. I started killing everyone in the UE compound and the UE itself appeared. I guess you'd be annoyed too if someone was running around killing all your followers. So now I can complete the quest, yay!

For some reason in my game, when I got the second part of the rod the Unseeing Eye creature never turned up to fight me. I found out later that it was supposed to, but now I have no saves before that time and I don't think I can finish the quest.
