I had no trouble with this Bodak although he is tough to bring down. I just cast spells on him and when things got rough paused, recalled, rested to get spells back, cast defensive spells, returned again repeating this until he was dead -

I just finished the woods segment - and cured the spirit. I had this same problem and found if I just moved around the guy a little and kept trying to talk to him eventually he would stop what he was doing and respond - - - hope this helps but probably you are way beyond this point now anyway - - lol
