1)About the portrait change there's a mod out there called Epotraits that has alternate portraits for every npc you can find,even mod ones.And yes,there's a goody-moody portrait for sarevok too.

Level 13 for the bonus attack is my guess.But you lack fights skills so maybe bring korgan along until you hit 14 lvl thief.If you want katanas ,yes try item uprgade and item pack.The 1st for cf +5 and the 2nd for dakkons +4

Open infinity explorer,open your saved game.Go to ''non party members''.It lists all npcs not in your party.Then just edit the character.
