I'm wondering if anyone knows what the base 0/1.st level saving throws an THAC0 are? (any class) I want to make a character from scratch basically, but since I only have BG2 and not BG1, I only know their stats from level 7.. And using those on a level 1 character yields some VERY cheesy stats once I'm through (not that I mind it that much since I cheat with almost everything in the game, but still..)
I searched every forum that I could find, but didn't find anything particularly helpfull..
Oh.. And if anybody knows *how much* speed the Boots of Speed gives, that would be great to (thinking about that cute little button that says speed factor 0 in SK hehe)
EDIT = OK, Found the base THAC0 for fighters, apparently 20, but.. still needs the rest
SK once again

With SK if you set your level to 0 and then level up ingame from there it will automatically set your thaco and saving throws. The only thing you have to worry about is proficiency points and your life. A level 0 fighter should have 4 proficiency points i think and other classes get 2. Besides that I think everything is set for you by the game. Oh and you have to delete any innate abilities the character had and any affects before you level up.

That's really odd, because my game doesn't reset the numbers.. Not ALL the times anyway, so I'm still curious..
And something is definitively wrong with the AC... I mean I reset Yoshimo to a 0 level thief (pure class), and when he hits level 1 he has an Armor Class of...2!!! Now that's new... My main character playing Kensai has the same low AC?? At level 1?
I always delete all of the proficiencies and special abilities, and there's no problem there..

Did you delete all of the affects in the affects tab before you level up from zero? I know for a fact that the kensai kit has an affect that decreases armor class. Also 18 dex gives -4 armor class.
To answer your question all thaco starts at 20. From there warriors get -1 per lvl. Thieves get -1 every 2 lvls. Priests get -2 every 3 lvls and Wizards get -1 every 3 lvls (i think).
Boots of speed are supposed to only increase your walk speed. In the unpatched (baldurdash patch) version they also gave you an extra 1/2 attack but I don't think they did anything with weapon speed factor.

Thanks for your replies
I heard about the Boots of Speed bug (and -fix), but I'm still curious about how much they increase the walking speed with(by?).. I altered the speed factor a little, and it only affects the walking speed as well (try that combined with a pair of speedboots and you're one VERY fast guy/lady LOL)
But let's see, that still leaves me with... uhh.. erhm.. I think.. the AC and the saving throws... (although I *might* have forgotten one of the kensai affects thingies... once)
- but still, Yoshimo with an AC of 2 at level 1?
Saving throws showing anything between 17 an 5??
The dexterity might have a say on that one, I'm not sure.. Since I cheat A LOT my characters usually gets 25 in all stats before I reset them..

The speed factor you are talking about is for walking speed. It is like how barbarians walk faster I think they have a 2 there (although it may be an affect for barbarians). Also alot of these things like the effects of high dex can be found in the manual towards the end in tables. There is a pdf manual on the disc and if not it is ez to find one to download with a google search.
