If you want to do it ilegally:
you can copy an expensive item (lightweight enchanted jewelry preferred)
with scrolls.
Get 2 or more scrolls of the same type (can be stacked), click on it twice, then drop the item you want to dupe.

Example:
I have 23 Open Easy Lock scrolls, click it twice (rapidly), then drop a Grand Amulet of Speechcraft,
when I exit the inventory menu, the once single Amulet become 23.

If it's the legal way you want,
just clear a bandits' cave/ruin, sell the loot, wait for three days and that dungeon should respawn
There is nothing you can't do, at least if you have enough patience to keep trying.

Go thru each dungeon as quickly as possible selling the stuff you find. Or my favorite, make potions, sell those and raise you skill at the same time. Once you buy all the houses there is no real need for money anymore, at least for me.
I only post with personal exp. So I will not answer anything about the dark brotherhood, and easter eggs.

I dont mean to brag, but I already Have 90,000, I'm not real sure how I get so much, but as you said, I just do the arena *small spoiler i guess* after you complete the arena you get to go there each week and battle fierce creatures based on your ability, I usually get about 1000-2000 im a level 25 so thats probably why i get so much, but also, if you get the downloadable content called "Thieves Den" you can get your pirate friends to head out and plumber, they bring back about 1-2K, then theres also simple things like mages, fighters, and thieves guild, if you kill someone like a civilian and then sleep some dude will come and give you a quest to kill someone at In Of Ill Omen and then your in the Dark Brotherhood, then you could do those quests, theres lots of different ways for a lot of money, I would still suggest the arena of course.

Depends on level but looting fallen enemies can be VERY lucrative. At high level you can usually score more glass weapons & armor than you can carry from bandit lairs and it's crazy resale value. At lower levels same thing applies, you just need to manage the price-to-weight ratio of what you loot (5 pair of sandals weighs 10 lb but only scores you 5 gp when you sell them, but 10 lb worth of bonemeal is worth carrying back to town to sell).
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

I would suggest doing all the daedric shrine, so then you can do hermaeus mora, he got me up 5 levels with oghma infinium, then once your levels are up more, you should be able to get better stuff to sell. oh good times that was

The easiest way to get loads of money is to level up. That way, all the loot from enemies and chests levels too. Leveling up isn't too hard- there are tons of lazy ways to do it.

What I do is go into dungeons/ vampire caves/ oblivion gates and loot all the ebony and glass items. They weigh from 5-20 (iirc) and sell for 300-1,000+ gold.

It can get annoying if you don't have mercentile maxed because the max you can sell items for is 1,000 gold. But when you can carry a lot, it doesn't matter. I have about 190,000 on my at present, and thats all from loot I have sold.

Then again, my character is level 42, so loot is quite decent, and I carry a lot too.

I made all of my money duping ( glitching to duplicate items)

Just get a really expensive (LIGHT) item and duplicate 200+ of them. Then sell them to a merchant who will buy for alot. You have to sell them one by one though which sucks. It is def worth it though. It takes awhile but let's just say I will never worry about money again lol

Spoiler
theres a guy named dorian in the elven gardens district whose money never runs out, so bribe him and kill him and in a mere 5 minutes you can amass millions
my other trick needs some investment:
gather enough money to buy rosethorn hall
get the servants quarters
get the servant(eeya or something)
become a master in alchemy(trust me, its dead easy)
keep asking for food with eeya and make cure disease potions out of them

as an aside, if your potions are too heavy for you to carry:
cast telekinesis on them until your at the door and grab the potions
go through the door and cast telekinesis on them again and continue to the alchemy shop

another glitch:
Spoiler
when your fighting mankar camoran, you can kill his kids again and again and if your level is high enough then raven camoran should drop mundane rings so youll get max price for it
another nice glitch ;) :
Spoiler
when youve done the vampire cure quest you can keep asking the count for a reward and thats 10k if your high enough, earning you a boat load of cash
but you dont want to earn your money in these dastardly ways do you? me neither!
just remember when you enter a dungeon that some items seem worth taking to a shop but weigh too much(im thinking of warhammers and battlaxes, claymores, cuirasses etc)
the following items are good to take back:
(quality) daggers, glass stuff(again no battleaxes and claymores or warhammers, but cuirasses are fine)
enchanted rings are very good

but i guess you can figure this all out for yourself

hope i helped,
