current party! have both SOA TOB playing insane with bioware npcs only and no gay mods fixpack installed(baldurdash one. strange the g3 actually adds new bugs to my game)
1. ME a plain fighter.... SIMPLE! A GOOD PARTY
2. imoen/yoshimo
3. minsc
4. jaheira
5. (reserved for the Throne of Bhaal guy)
6. ????????
i've decided to play through SOA with only 5 guys and get mr tob when i reach chapter 8 or tob so i dont have to kick anyone out. therefore that leaves me with one spot. need some subjections... should i get a cleric paladin or maybe even a bard the telfiiling(whatever) looks interesting. need some subjecstionsa. a character that delivers good dialogues with the current npcs i have and unique but not to the point of MIGHTY.
NPCs i don't wanna get:
VALYGAR (too powerful and too useful, last time i played with him he killed 60%+ of the ENTIRE GAME wow posibly one of most underappeciated npc so no valygar btw he's too quiet he needs to talk)
ANOMEN (i find his voice very funny. took him everytime but not this time)
EDWIN (too powerful you all know. edwin = 4 mages' power combined. he gets 4 level 9 spells together with powerful items like robe of venca and amulet of power. edwin can go solo. too bad u cant kick the protagonist out)
NALIA (i dont everything about her played her once and bah no more)
JAN (he's a monster when u get to tob)
Mixed Reactions:
AERIE (interestling multiclass but according to alot people she becomes too powerful in tob and i don't like that. btw her personality sickens me. question is does her character gets better or interesting later on and does she become too powerful in tob?)
CERND (he SUCKS. good. i like him much. does he get good dialogues he seems very quiet and does his character get interesting?)
SO THAT LEAVES ME WITH THESE PEOPLE!
Mazzy, Viconia, Korgan, Keldorn, Haer'Dalis. Cernd and Aerie as well.
PS: or should i just go without the last guy?
my mind is full of thoughts right now i really need some subjections!
THANKS

go for the eyes boo go for the eyes!
I'd go with Aerie or Haer'dalis. Reason: you are going to be very short on arcane power, especially before spellhold. I would entirely ignore the other fighters (Keldorn, Korgan and Mazzy) as you already have 2 and a half tanks, plus one in ToB. Another cleric type wouldn't be too bad, but I think half a druid (Jaheira) would do - especially if you took Aerie as well.
In terms of interestingness, Cernd isn't great, one of the least developed NPC's. Taking both Aerie AND Haer'dalis will give you some of the best party interaction in the game. The rest of them are good enough.
You also mentioned not wanting too much power. Aerie and Haer'dalis can both become absolute powerhouses, but only if you know how to play them right. Played wrongly, they can be amongst the weakest in the game. To be honest all of the NPC's are incredibly powerful at the end of the game, but perhaps Cernd is another of the weaker characters.
If it were me, I would take Aerie from the selection you gave, and Jan if I could pick anyone.
