fighter optimum level

Post by maximouse »

When does the fighter stop progressing in terms of his thaco?

Will this make a difference to a triple class - like fighter/mage/thief in fury mode? or f/c/mage?

Fighter thac0 progression stops at level 20 (base thac0 1). But a level 13 fighter can already be considered nearly perfect when he gained the last extra half attack at level 13. The following bonuses do hardly matter.

This would me a fighter dual to cleric or fighter dual to druid would be best done at level13. What about duals to mages?

I notice that the hit dice is lower for mages than for priest. ThacO for priest also increase as good as fighters but it does not for Mages.

Mage THAC0 progression is significantly slower, but it doesn't matter as you have so many mage spells to buff yourself, more notably Haste and Tensor's Transformation.

It would be the same level for mages. The only benefit you get for dualing late in this case is the extra hit points as your THAC0 should be sufficient enough.
