Help!

Post by the orc slayer »

Okay, here goes... I can't find a lightsaber lens for bao-dur, so I tried using a cheat (oh, shoot me) to get one. It's in my inventory plain as day, (yes I am sure it is the right one) and... he won't accept it. What's going on??

Probably something in the script that actually says that you've received the lens, as Bao-dur's dialogue to build it is probably triggered by a script and not you actually having the item. I don't know for sure, but that would be my guess. I can't remember where you get it, so I'm not sure which event trigger you'd have to activate.
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.

On Dantooine, save Jorran from the Enclave Sublevel, and get the lens from him.

In the game programming, in order to run the dialogue where Bao Dur recognises that you've got the lens, the game will conduct certain checks - if they're checked, he'll recognise it, if they're not, he won't. Nightmare was suggesting that this check is a journal entry ("I have received a lens" or something), which would be a different check to simply having a lens in your inventory.
Hmm, that was meant to make things simpler, but I don't think it has.
