Game crashing

I recently got this game off of Direct2drive and havent been able to get it started it always crashes within 20 seconds and says the audio subsystem couldnt start. I looked it up for solutions on the net that all basically say take off the Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device but i don't even have that to disable. I am running on Vista and any help would be appreciated

Are you sure that you have only ONE audio device? For example, graphics card could have audio device too. Try to make sure that you have only one audio device on when playing DS.

Ya thanks for responding I was visiting some family for a few weeks so I havent been able to get online... As far as i can see im not experienced with the divice manager the only Audio device that is active is my Normal sound card,a second on is active if i plug in my hd tv to my comp, but even when I unplug it or shut that one off it still doesnt work I'm trying to redownload and reinstall.
