I tried this before. Last time was about 4 years ago, when a few more people played this game and frequented these forums.
If you find someone to play with, that's fantastic. I wish you luck!

It'd be nice to get the regulars of the BG forums in for a game, and actually finish it.
I occasionally play on GameSpy, so I can tell you that there are a handful of players around.

I'm interested. I just have a few conditions:
1. I get to play as a druid kit of my choosing.
2. We don't have more than 1 NPC in our party.
3. We play with TOB installed.
4. We connect in some mode that doesn't involve me downloading a bunch of crap off the internet just so I can play MP. One program is fine only if there's no other viable option.
5. You accept that I'll only be available for a few hours at a time and that progressing through the game will obviously take longer because we won't always be able to play because some times only one of us has enough free time.
I'm a full time college student, but the quarter ends in about 3 weeks so I'll have more time then.

^^ I've played multi-player years ago. IIRC we used a TCP/IP connection rather than Gamespy. I works like this:
1. Start up the game and select Shadows of Amn (we're playing with TOB installed).
2. Select multi-player, then pre-generate a character if you haven't done so already. If not, you should create one before we set up a play date.
3. Click on Protocol, then select TCP/IP.
4. Click on 'Create Game' if you want to host, or 'Join Game' if you want me or another player to host.
5. If you chose to Create Game, just wait for the other players. They need to type in your IP address to connect to you. If you chose Join Game, you'll need to type in the IP address of the host in order to connect.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I got something wrong. It's been years since I played MP and I'm trying to recall all of it from memory.
PS: We can start as soon as tonight if you want. I'll be available starting around 8:30pm Pacific time (my time). We can start later than that if you wish, but no later than midnight PST.

I just have TOB and the latest official patch for it. No mods installed. Also I have Deidre the bonus merchant because I got "The Collection." I don't think that matters though. Let me know when you get caught up. It would be too much hassle for me to uninstall TOB for just one MP game then have to reinstall later when I want to play it on my own.
