I'm curious about something. Is it possible to replace the in-game background music? I have a strong urge to listen to the themes from "Fist Full of Dollars," "Boondock Saints," and "the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" while I smite evil.
And while we're on the subject of music; is it possible to extract the game music and play it outside of the game, like in MP3 format or something?

John was a space marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the spaceships and he said to dad "I want to be on the ships daddy." Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS"
I'm not sure if or how the in-game music is extractable from the game's installation.
But I do have the music tracks in mp3 format on the bonus cd that came with the Collector's Edition of BG2:SoA.
And I also have the BG1 soundtrack CD that came with the BG1 Original Saga box set.
And I also have the IWD soundtrack CD that came with the IWD Ultimate Collection box set.
And I was able to download mp3 files for all the music that's in BG2:ToB, and also Planescape:Torment! (I don't remember where I got them from.)
All of the above music is fantastic, and as far as I'm concerned, doesn't get nearly enough recognition.
Now, as for switching this beautiful music with your other 'themes' (*tck*), couldn't you just turn the in-game music all the way down from the in-game options menu, and play the game while having Windows Media Player play 'whatever' in the background?

Why is it that whenever I finally get around to playing a new game for the first time,
I feel like playing Baldur's Gate for the second time...

I suppose I could. I just usually try to avoid having background programs running, for fear of a fatal error. Do you know where I could get a torrent of all that music you have?
