BGTutu with BG graphics?

Post by GawainBS »

Is there a mod out there that allows you to play BGTutu without the strange-looking BG2 graphics/paperdolls? I always prefered those from the original BG1.

Thanks in advance!

You might want to check out One Pixel Productions. The readme states that it is Tutu-compatible.

Hi Gawain, I've always hated the BG2 avatars and paper dolls so I was thinking of doing this as well. Has it worked okay? Also d'you happen to know whether you download the file into the BG2 override?

It's a normal Weidu installer. If you want it to affect Tutu, run it from the Tutu directory. So far, it worked like a charm.

Thanks Gawain,

I've downloaded it and it does seem to work fine. However, I have realised that it doesn't do quite what I was hoping for. I like the fact that it has changed the paper dolls, shields etc. on the inventory screen but I was hoping it was going to do the same for the avatars. I much prefer the BG1 figures to the ones in BG2. (I hope I'm using avatar correctly. I'm taking about the figures that represent the characters during gameplay).

You should get an option during installation to change avatars as well. I'm quite sure, since my characters have BG1 avatars on them. :)

Thanks Gawain,

I've obviously done something wrong. I'll try installing it again.

You sure you downloaded the right file? I remember there were a lot of them...

To be honest I'm not certain that I did. I found the site a bit confusing (but then I am easily confused by anything vaguely technical). I thought I had downloaded a patch with all of the fixes but I may have picked the wrong one.

I've now done something completely wrong and the Tutu version crashes as soon as I start it. I think I'll give up now and go back to playing BG1 and BG2 separately.

Not necessary. Do a clear install of Tutu, and all should be well again.
