Help with import please

Post by howcho »

I have tried many times and options to import my char from bg1 to bg2. I can view my target char when in the bg2 import screen but cannot 'accept' him as the button is greyed out.

For the hell of it I tried to import anything from the list and still same thing 'accept' is grayed out.

I have tried from 'save game' file and also tried with the char file.

Any thoughts?

Actually, you must choose a kit (if any), then weapon proficiencies (since they've changed a lot since BG 1), and then appearance and name. You cannot neglect any of these steps. You may also consider this.

A: Export your desired character in a character file other than Char1. After that, save that character file through the BG2 character viewer into BG2. Finally, import said character file into a new BG2 game. Presto! You're character's at the very experience - and level - that you had in BG1! ;)
