Chapter 9 Will not end!! (Multiplayer)

Help!

My wife and I have played all the way thru kill Gom, opened the chamber of stars, activated the chamber and got the items from the chest. All of which were pretty much junk and we converted them to cash.

I've been everywhere I can find. The last quest "vanquish the seck" will not complete and we are standing around with nothing to do. Although we played these characters from the start, this particular game was started from chapter 7, the Kroog village. We killed the ancient dragon and everything from the kroog village to the far depth below the castle.

note: when we killed the dungeon guy I think his name was "swammy". We pressed the buttons but never figured out how to get down below and do anything down there. The buttons seamed to be single use. Any help will be welcomed. I've talked to the King, found the shop in the castle. and even found the secret hiding place below the drain where the 3 men are hiding.

I am not aware of the multiplayer having chapters. At least when I play it, it doesn't. In the single player, the extermination of Gom should roll the end sequence and credits. You can continue to play, but for all intents and purposes, the game is finished. I did do the Star Chamber quest first, before going after Gom.

As far as I know, the last of the Sect are outside of Gom's dungeon.

Chapters

the chapters are listed and the chapter message appears for a moment when you advance to the next chapter.

I did do the star chamber before killing gom also. Never got any credits, either of us. I have another friend who is having the same problem. She's played the last chapter thru twice now and the quest doesn't get completed.

The completed quest are darkened and my "vanquish the seck" isn't completed

Angus, and correct me if I'm wrong Breaker, I think he means the Kingdom of Ehb map IN multiplayer. Can't help you here, though, because I'm not up to it yet

I didn't realize you could play the Kingdom of Ehb in multiplayer. I'll have to check that out.

Unfortunately, Breaker, my wife and I had the same problem. I'm not sure there is a way to actually FINISH the Kingdom of Ehb in MP. I think you have to go through the SP version to 'finish'.

I started playing DS a few days before my wife was interested in it, so I had a SP game going (had a full party and one packmule in Glitterdelve, I think). Later, we started new characters and joined an MP Kingdom of Ehb together. We also saw 'chapters' and such, but since the gameworld state is not actually "saved" in any MP game I think it is just a benchmark for how far you've come in the storyline.

I noticed that not only couldn't I get the NPCs to join my/our party, but I couldn't see the cutscenes I had witnessed in SP within our MP game either. We finished the Kingdom of Ehb and, like you, sorta stood around waiting for something to do

. I've since finished the SP game and, while not TOTALLY different, I am now sure that the MP game doesn't allow you to see or do a lot of the things the SP game offers.

My only suggestion is for you to finish the Kingdom of Ehb map in SP and see what you're missing and, at the same time, you and your wife play through the (much larger) U.P. MP map until some of the new mods are released
