Sorceress is my favorite! :) The hubby loves to play Necro, and a sorc is always happy for a Lower resist-Necro :D

I love the amazone, my faforite charcter in all my single player games, and my only multiplayer character that i realy ahd fun with.

I used here for everything (i'm not the type to spend HOURS on many differnt characters and doing endless meph-runs)

Realy fun to play, and realy powerfull (IMHO)
She could kill diablo on normal mode with one arrow :D :D :D

Sorceress, no doubt. I can't live without teleport... Figuratively at least, Carless teleporting often gets me killed... :o Second choice would be barbarian with leap attack.

necromancer - for the skellingtons. the scuttle of bony feet just does things to me deep down inside.

@Stilgar: The Amazon is really powerful, I agree. In 1.09, my Strafeazon was the only char I always played with 8 players, from start to end.

@Dottie: You don't need to be a Sorc to teleport, in 1.09 you could get an amulet or ring with Teleport (very expensive of course since it was only charges), now in 1.10 you can also get Teleport on certain items, as a skill. If you like sudden movements like Teleport and Leap attack, what about Dragon Flight?

@Rob: The Skeletal Mages are soooo cute :D

The thing with dragon flight is that it needs a visible monster onorder to work, which makes it totally useless IMO. You don't want to tele into trouble, u want to tele out of it or to just outside it.

@Garaz: That's true of course. I think Dragon flight is a fun skill, but it's of course not suitable for moving to safety or move around when you explore an area. Dottie has to get himself and Enigma, I suppose :D

Hmmm.
I played almost every class in Diablo2 and I must admit that realy powerfull characters are:
Magic:
-direct damage&defense skills/spells=druid, sorceress(200-1000dmg by spell)
-summoning=necromancer( summon fire golem with 4000hp is so fun)
Fighting:
-melee=assassin( really GREAT DMG)
-ranged=amazon( with pierce&homing arrow is great)
Help(both fight and magic):
-paladin=extra auras( defensive means more in party than offensive)
Barbarian was good before LOD, now he is a bit to weak!!

necromancer, Necromancer, NEcromancer, NECromancer and so forth.

in my opinion it is no doubt the best class to play with. just the whole thing dealing with death. fascinating. the druid is not a bad choice either. still love the paladin. Fire and Blood Golem. forgive my insanity. in any game, if possible, play as thief or necromancer.

death,Death, DEath, DEAth, DEATh, DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My New 1.10 Assassin and im loving it! Being super fast totally rocks, setting traps and being passive really wasn't my thing. So a martial arts assassin for me. Second choice summoning necro, Ok i know he kinda passive but keeping up with all the minions and keeping them alive takes up alot of time :) .
I used to hate going to weddings because the old people would always say,"You Next! You Next!" Now I go to funerals and tell them the same thing.

I really like the asassin class, just like the damage she puts out, that plus the ability to summon shadow warriors, means she can really dish it out. Plus she looks really cool, and the open locked chest function is really good.

The other classes are fun, the sorceress would come after(like the elemental attacks), then paladin(those auras kick butt), then druid(summoning and auras, what a combination), then necromancer(like to deal direct damage so not really my forte), barbarian dead last(geez sure hes a great fighter but no magic summoning thing worth mentioning, ahhh I just like a combination fighter magic class, barbarian is still pretty good).

Bit to easy with barbarian though, he's just to powerful at least in resistances and dishing out damages anyway.

Still, I will stick by the necromancer.

However, I would like to say that the druid and the paladin are fun, and that is mainly because you have the ability to fight as well as cast spell.

I know this is an old post but what the hey....maybe we can get something going in this forum. The poll may be closed but comments are still possible. It actually seems to me judging by the answers that it may even be older than the LOD expansion.

After having made just about every character at least once to varying degrees of success..I have to say my favorite character is the Barb...Frenzy especially. Two weapons (two handers included) and fast as heck. My particular barb uses Last Wish and Breath of the Dying Phase Blades. With dracs and every other piece of gear possible to increase attack speed he is a 1-man wrecking crew.

I know Sorcs can be fine builds but with the addition of Enigma armor they are no longer necessary for teleporting which in my opinion just makes them too weak. The other popular answer seems to be necromancers. By my estimation the Lagromancer is really only effective at thoroughly annoying everyone else in the game. Between 450 summons and bonewalls all over the place they drive me up a wall.

I still play sometimes, in periods. But not right now, I am too busy with work. When and if the infamous 1.13 patch is released and the ladder reset, I will play again.
