Help, xp/stats Mods don't work

Post by rogerw99 »

Can anyone help with this? I am playing Single-Player and am trying to raise the rate of stats/xp increase by using any of the Mods that do that and I didn't want to use the DRDEATH cheat code because that max's you out and takes the fun out of the game. None of the Mods work at all. Not even the Player Tankxxx edit guide had any effect. I tried to up the 'stats'xp = xxx.xxx numbers like the guide I found said to, re-tanked the save game and started the game and the save game just reverts to the pre-edited xp levels. What gives??? The other Mods that add or change othe things seems to work just fine, just not the xp that would increase leveling more rapidly. I don't want to go overboard but xp/leveling progression is way too slow. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Mods

I know what you mean slow XP in Dungeon Siege. I was running a straight mage for over a year and eventually got the elite stage in DS-online. But I never saw a level increase after that. So I searched the internet and found http://www.dsedit.net and http://www.overtheedge.us as source for mods. Dsedit has a very short list of mods covering the most popular requests. And OE has a very large list of mods include all found at dsedit. But to get to my purpose of this response here is my experience with mods.

Start with a clean install of DS. using the desktop explorer drop the mods you want into the Microsoft Games/Dungeon Siege/Resources folder. I keep the mod for DS and DS-online and DSLOA in seperate folder off the DS folder. Some mods are in conflict and can't be used togeather. Read the readme that come with each mod and decide how to use them. Some mods include the readme online when you view the mod. Download a mod where you have a little interest or you'll have to uninstall DS and reinstall after cutting out the mods just to get it to work. Because of this I rairly play DS-LOA any more. I don't need a disco hat or a chicken orb. A Zhixalom Slicer and Thrust of Zhixalom is more than needed for DS-online Elite and Hard.

My favorite mods are:

Master Mod II- Carry 2 billion in gold; 8x17 backpack; Mega potions
Kanes XP spells - XP gained using 1kXP to 100 Trillion XP spells
Zhixaloms spells - 3x Thrust with 100000 sec duration plus more
loa modifiers - DS like LOA include spells and rings.
loa weapons and armor - available from armories.
Highlevel900 - Achieve 900 for all stats and skills. Need Kanes XP for this.
Fairyfix - Stops the fairies from casting health or mana crashing DS.
-chicken droppings- Trial of Gallus now drops more than twice the loot.

The Kanes 100 Trillion XP spell is awsume. On my last single game a krug dropped the spell near the farmland. I implemented two casts for 180 sec. The next group of krugs accelerated my Strength, Dexterity and Intellegence to 909 the max for these three stats. That gave my character armor of 3200, health of 41,000, mana of 22,000 and base melee of 1922. I also got the Trust of Zhixaloms spell that works like Triple Strike but has 100,000 sec duration, no mana cost and a reach of about 20 meters. So I used the Black Steel sword that looks like a Zhixaloms Slicer on screen but with only 25 max melee damage. But at base of 1900 melee it makes no difference. Online a character with stats like this can do anything but only people with the exact same list of mods can join.

Dementors mod is part of master mod II.

Forget the level 1500 XP mod it only allowed 256 in all stats.

You may need to start a new character for the mods to work. Or wait until you go online they may work there.

Remember to use the invicible cheat code "zool' (enterkey+zool) to give yourself a more enjoyable time.

Mods

Thanks for the advice. That’s how I started, with just one Mod, one at a time. I've run into trouble before with multiple mods in other games. The only one I have not run the course with yet is the Kanes XP rings (which I’m waiting to find one. Just now made it to Stonebridge. Maybe I can buy one) and Kanes XP spell (which I have not tried yet). As for God(invincible) mod, I never use it unless there is absolutely no other option. The cheating I like most is more of the "Leg Up" type. You know, just a little boost here and there. Not enough to unbalance a game. I like the challenge. But I don't like killed off by overwhelming numbers, like in Sacred, or with just a nasty look from a bad guy. "Oh look, a hero." *HARD GLARE* "Oh look, the heroes dead." The real cheating starts with me on the second time through a game. Just for the fun of it. Anyway, I'm going to try for the rings right now before heading of to work. Hope they work.

Mods

I saw Kanes rings but there is not very many of them. I like kanes XP spells because you don't need to be a magic user to use them. The level for kanes spells is 0. Again I want to say to get the mods to work you must uninstall ds and remove all the mods or cut and paist them to a secondary folder. Then reinstall ds and after copy all the mods you want to use into the ds resources folder. Restart DS and all mods should be working. This is a hastle but ds does install quickly considering 3 CDs. I'm useing 15 mods included the ds edit mod.
