About Pets.....

Post by VampirePenguin »

Just curious how many use pets vs npcs in their games. How effective are they? What special attacks are good? etc etc etc.....

Happy gaming,
Vamp

Hi,

I never used pets in merc mode. Now I'm at Veteran and in my fifth party slot I hired a Light Naiad. Very very very useful. She has a good healing spell and a good healing aura. Not nice for attacking because she consume a lot of mana with her beam.
In practice I use her like a LIVING MEDIPACK :) My character is a combat mage and I love to curse enemies ;) so in every battle monsters always jump against me reducing my life in few seconds. But with her my life suddenly reach top in 1 second and if I die with her special power I can resurrect in one moment :) ))

I find pets just as good as NPCs. I've already beaten the story on all 3 levels of difficulty mostly using NPCs and some pets (where necessary when a NPC isn't the same level as me and I need to be 20 levels higher).

Now I am going solo with a variety of pets - Currently using a Dire Wolf, Scorpion, Fire Elemental - and an Ice Elemental staying at the inn.

This site has a very good pet guide here so you can review that for their special attacks, etc. Personally, I like the Fire Elemental's attack which does splash damage. His power is like a Flame thrower which isn't very effective unless the enemy is rushing me. The Dire Wolf's power is nice and knocks back the enemy. His emenation is nice with the reflection damage.

I think you could have a lot of fun with pets in your party (if only briefly).

I've been using the Ice el. since the start and I will keep Booboo till I finish through my elite run (though I'm playing Oblivion now so who knows when). The freeze power attack is great (it freezes everyone around him, and does damage during time) for me cause I let him out, the opponents sworm then freeze then I just pick them off plus he does a lot of damage anyway with his ice.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.
