DW-Warrior worth it ?

Post by Dreez »

I have soon finished the game with my Theurgist and i have started abit on
a dualwield warrior that will only go for high DPS, basically no defense at all.
These are the skills i intend on maxing out, and the reason why.

Warfare.

Weapontraining - Increases weaponspeed.
Battlerage - Hit harder.
Onslaught - This skill will have less prio to get maxed.
Dualwield - Allready maxed out ofc.
Dodge - Gives me 15% chanse to dodge attacks when maxed.
Hew - Increases dualwield dmg even more.
Crosscut - This skill will have less prio to get maxed.
Counterattack - When im in battlerage, this skill will give me 13%chanse to hit back when struck.

Storm.

Storm Nimbus - this skill should add "Zomgdmg" to my weapons.
Heart of Frost - Makes all my enemys who are close, to hit slower.
Static Charge - Has a chanse of giving anyone who hits me, electrical dmg.

Now, ofc all these skills will take alot of time to accuire. But when this char
is about lvl 45, i expect it to rock everything and anything it faces.
It should have battlerage almost constantly so he does more dmg. And with
counterattack and battlerage, he/she will not go down quietly either.

Any suggestions or thoughts  .

What about Summon Wisp's special skill "Eye of the Storm"? I never played with a wisp. If the wisp cast this skill at appropriate times, then "Eye of the Storm" maxed out would help as well.

Is the Battlerage Tree worth it in version 1.20 of TQ? I just have bad feelings about the Battlerage skill Tree. 8% of triggering Battlerage...and then while in battlerage you have a max of 25% of triggering (Crushing Blow) 64-116 damage and you have a max of 15% of triggering 50-71 retaliation damage (Counter Attack). Do I have this right?...or is it more like the Dual wield tree where each skill of the Dual Weild Tree is independent of itself and not dependent on the actual Dual Wield skill?

Battlerage is dependent on being hit...if your not facing another dual wielding opponent who is swinging fast...what's the point of the Battlerage Tree? Forgive my ignorance if I'm missing out on Battlerages advantages.

*Edit
I see the point in the Battlerage Tree. It basically is the Warfare's equivalent to a Defense...meaning, Warefare's defense is its offense. Kill them faster before more damage is inflicted onto the player...especially when the player is outnumbered.

you will aventualy aquier ansentals and wisp skills, they both very strong summons.
you shouldnt max or even use the doul skills that hit more mobs cause this are worthless, it as too low chance to be used and youll probabl vanish all who stand around you untill itll do somthing..
the static frost storm skills combo isnt that "omgwtflmao" strong skill :)
it does add like 50~ dps but its really depends on your attack speed, if youll have about above 150% speed then itll work and when using two weapons with + cold, static dmg will get it to above 100~ dps :) like i said befor, if youll add to it a wisp than itll turn to be uber powerfull combo!

i dunno about battle rage+counter attack... itll wok only against faster fues or against lots of fues so that makes it a worthless skill untill legendery stage or against bosses.

Well I have a dual wield warrior. I actually needed to go nature for Heart of the oak...otherwise u seem to be getting hit too hard. I see that there are two really different types of dps in the game...random mob dps and boss dps. Where as I beleive the dual wield warrior is great for random mob dps, i think a brigrand (hunter/rogue) is better for boss dps... I am level 42 atm in legendary (act 1) just farming some items, Without heart of the oak (in nature tree) i dont think I would have been able to make it this far...

Just my 2 cents

If ur going for maxed damage then why not go warrior and rogue?
Its much better for damaging monsters.
And with a complete of good items u can be absorb alot of damage u might take, but i agree with dual wield being rubbish against bosses, its much better against mobs, plus against big bosses a shield does come in handy.
Well thats my opinion, doubt its worth much, haha

Tumult and Cross-Cut come in handy with their Bleed damage...even against Big Bosses every little bit helps. Plus, Tumult might have a chance to even stun a Big boss...(although, I'm not sure it does work on Big Bosses).

Which is better...a Storm Dual Wielder...or a Earth Dual Wielder?
That was my toss-up when I chose to make a elemental DW...I went with a Battlemage because Brimstone gives a +21%Physical damage bonus and Burn over time damage and Stone skin gives a nice +25%FR...but, I don't really see any Battlemage equipment suited for a Warrior (meaning good Armor class, and +skills to both classes). The actually Battlemage set is a bit to weak for an actual melee character.

So which has the better tree...Storm Nimbus Tree or Earth Enchant Tree?

I ended up going for the nature...Mainly for more survivability (heart of oak) however i have been looking at going up the wolf tree a bit also so that I can get major deamage increases with their aura...however I am not too sure how this will pan out on boss fights...i can only imagine that the wolves will get toasted very quickly and therefore not provide the buff for long on boss fights...

well, if yer going for thye wolf tree, I'd suggest steering clear of the 1st telkine, cause he has the power to control yer pets and guardians.

I found that out the hard way, I was trying to kill him, was in colossusform and suddenly my guardians turned against me, I was done for in less then 20 seconds. :)

but if you get yer wolves up nicely, they can do pretty nice damage and they'll keep the boss destracted for a good deal while you pound him senseless.
