Engineer or Infiltrator

Post by GawainBS »

Engineer or Infiltrator?

Well, just one more day before the new rig arrives, and I can start Mass Effect.
So, I'm in doubt between an Engineer and Infiltrator. (I intent to play the game a second time as a Soldier.)

So, does the extra combat ability of the Infiltrator outweigh his lesser developed Tech skills? On the other hand, I'm more tempted by the Engineer, but I'm afraid my party will end up lacking in punch, since I'll probably take a Biotics user and one warrior-type with me.

So, any advice is welcome, but please, mark out any spoilers.

Thanks in advance!

This is only sort of an answer to your question. But...
  • The game focuses on combat
  • Lots of utility skills (like first aid, decryption, electronics) are shared for the party
So I'd suggest playing a soldier the first time, and then once you've completed the campaign, figure out which class you want to try out next.

Ooh, you are expecting! Off topic, but I believe congratulations are in order. Few things can make a person as happy as getting a new rig. Well, aside from becoming a real parent. Maybe.

Have you decided on the name yet?

Thanks, SWC.
Tricky: I was thinking along the lines of "Little Stubby", since it's a tower-case, but a very short one.
