need help....annoying game bug

Post by PurpleMist333 »

Hi, I am having a MAJOR difficulty and it is irritating to no end as I am sooo close to finishing Jade Empire: Special Edition and now I can;t!! this bug sucks the fun out of the game!! See, the problem is I am in the Imperial Palace at Chapter 7 and when the assassins come down the stairs they don't attack! there is a loud POP! and the whole battle stops before its begun. I can;t even talk with them. I have tried with complete and utter failure readjusting the settings and resolution but I think the bug goes much deeper than that as nothing I have tried as worked. I am even so desperate at to look for game cheats and I don;t know where to even begin for encounter problems. Can anyone offer some tips and/or insight? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

okay I finally (and with ALOT of effort and struggle) figured out what was wrong. It turns out my computer system was mostly but not entirely compatible with the game. I fixed the problem by right clicking on the Jade Empire shortcut icon on desktop and clicked properties, clicked the compatibility tab and ran the game under Windows XP compatibility. I then ran under administrator for Windows XP and clicked out of Properties shortcut. But even then, it still wasn;t that simple. the computer couldn;t find the disc now and after ALOT of trying to load the game I finally got it to load. but wait there's more. I then, could not find my saved games and I was getting close to my wit's end at this point. Finally after some more tinkering with the shortcut and reloading I finally found my games and the bug is completely gone!! woohoo! not only that, the game runs MUCH smoother and I didn;t have trouble with turning my character around, moving around in combat, the mouse was easier to use, etc. Oh, by the way, my computer is Windows Vista. So if anyone is having lots of bugs and has Vista and can;t play the game you could try what I did, albeit with varying success. But I can;t guarantee that it;ll be a sound solution for everyone.
