Post by denebswift »

hail one and all.

i am predominantly a multiplayer. i play with some guys i was in uni with, looong time ago now. we have just started our 2009-10 season with a trip along the icy wastes in IWDII.

while we were waiting for our mage to install 'rogerwilco' so we could start our seasons adventure i was surfing and i saw this 'TuTu' mod thinggy.

how good is this mod? does it work with multiplayer games? are there any particular multiplayer issues?

thanks everyone.

The TuTu mod is a complete overhaul of Baldur's Gate into the Baldur's Gate II engine. It can only work in multiplayer if the the host, as well as all participating players have it installed.
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”

Whilst not using Easy Tutu in multiplayer mode I find it makes BG1 les "clunky" (better resolution plus all the other improvements in the BG2 engine/interface)

However, watch out for the dreaded Beregost bug ! Leaving Beregost can produce unsuspected game crashes and corrupt the save file (BALDER.sav). To avoid this you should save immediately before entering Beregost, do what you need to do in the town, then save again before leaving Beregost under a different saved name. Leave the town - if you crash it's unlikely that you'll be able to use this second save and you should reload from the pre-Beregost save and go through the process again.

Alternatively a java programme to recover corrupted saves exists at

It works for me.

Another "issue" is that with 3D graphics accelleration activated water shading can become green instead of blue. Another bigfix exists for this, but it takes a while to install (all mosaics containing water are copied over from a fairly heavy download file ..... go for a long meal!). You caz find it at

Good luck!
