Nymphs as a Player race

Post by Taverick »

Okay, so I have an idea for a character, but I need the stats and abilities to play a nymph in 3.5ed. I've looked in the monster manual and savage species, and while other Fey stats are given, I can't find the stats for a nymph. Could someone help me out here?

It's a homebrew race but it's a viable one nonetheless-
Elven Nymph (DnD Race - D&D Wiki)

It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

Thanks for the effort, but it's just not close enough to the real thing.

Nymphs are on page 197 of Monster Manual 3.5 ed. Are you looking in the right Monster Manual? I have Monster Manual 1, 2 and 3 for 3.5, but I know there are more than that.

That's not the issue. He's wanting character creation stats for Nymphs which aren't featured in any Monster Manual.

All the entries in the MM have 10 or 11 as base stats. Substract 11 from the uneven stats and 10 from the even to get the ability score adjustments.
Special Qualities & Attacks can simply be copied over.
Also, thiscan help you. It's from the NWN PrC. Go to Manual -> Races -> Nymph.

Thanks Gawain! That link is a lot of help! Just need one more bit of information. How many levels of Fey does a nymph have if any? I realise it has a +7 level adjustment, but does that cover all it's bonus stat points and spell like abilities?

I suppose the LA +7 is including its 6 fey HD from the MM.
The racial abilities ARE good, though, and you get Druid casting.

The +7 Level Adjustment *and* the hit dice. You'll have to have both to start out with all its abilities and stat adjustments.

So those 6HD are in fact Fey HD? I wasn't sure they were.

What else would they be? Nymphs are Fey. :)

Well yeah, but they could have been a class HD. Like I said I wasn't sure. There was no explaination of the HD so I didn't want to jump to conclusions.

If it were class HD, it would be mentioned in the stat block.
It does look like Nymph HD count as Druid levels for the casting, though.

Kinda resurrecting an old thread here but I too am working on creating a nymph PC. I am using Savage Species as a guide to help me create a levelup for the nymph. The problem I am running into atm is racial skills. I have checked between races listed in the MM 3.5 and their counterpart listed in Savage Species and though the racial skills are very similar, they are not exact. I was wondering if anyone had any input on this or if there was something I was overlooking here.

I guess I posted this kinda early. Shortly after making the post I read in Savage Species that the skills listed under the monster in the MM are considered class skills for that monster race.
