Divine Divinity: Quest doesnt continue after quest item given?!

I just gave the Orc his Slasher for the quest, afterwards he walks to the middle of the room...and doesnt move...The game is still playing but I cant move or do anything...so I have to reload...whats the problem?!

My guess is that you're playing an old version from Good Old Games. If so, uninstall, and *redownload* it. They have a new version.

Do I need to download a certain file or patch BEFORE i reinstall it so it isnt the exact same download?. I downloaded patch 1.34 and that didnt work..and this happens for a few quests...driving me loony toony.

GoG doesn't work with patches. You need to completely delete the old version (except for saves) and *re-download* the new version. The download is a new one. You don't need any extra files.
Also, I think you're better of asking the fora on GoG itself, since it's their product.
