recently my game has started blinking incessantly for no reason. I want to reinstall it but when I went through all the folder in the SSI folder, there was none! I know it has to be there because I save whenever I play and start from the area I last finished at.
anyone else have this problem?
no save game folder?
Windows Vista and 7 tend to locate, move and mount savegame folders to a different location. I am not sure why this is done. Certain games may protest if this is done with the absence of the indexing service, in services.msc. If you go to your own user folder, say 'Administrator' or whatever you chose, you should be able to find it somewhere there. Possibly 'My Saves' or something overly Windowsey like that. Moving it back to the game directory may cause problems.
Other than that, if you are really unlucky, both OS's also have the annoying habit of putting certain files and folders it deems important enough as special system files that are always hidden. The reasoning for this is as mysterious as the secret life of Walter Mitty. They can be made visible quite easily by enabling the viewing of invisible files in your Folder Options. However, you can't quite get rid of this special hidden status without some serious hacking. As long as the game doesn't mind, I would suggest just letting it be.

thank you for the response. I did find my own name in a separate folder with a sub saved games folder, but nothing was in it unfortunately.
I'm probably not going to even try the other thing you recommended for fear of putting my computer in worse condition that it is. guess i'll have to live with the flickering.
update: I did find the saved game you were talking about. I reinstalled the game however the flickering continues.

I did update the driver but unfortunately it did not help. One thing changed though and that is the screen is now stretched to the left and right a bit moreLena wrote:I had a graphic problem some years ago. My characters were invisible in some locations, I could only see their skeletons. If you have the same problem, try to update a video driver, this helped me.
