I have trouble understanding how the "Go Stealth" command works. Browsing the manual, I got that you have to go stealth in dim-lighted areas and away from enemies' line of sight (and out of combat).
But it seems to fizzle 90% of the time, most often I click the button and nothing happens for about 5 secs... and then the message "leaving shadows" appears (as if I had disabled it).
Will these malfunctions disappear once I upgrade the stealth skill to full 100%? Thanks for any help.
Ok, it seems to be more responsive now. With AI on, it delays the stealth activation in weird ways. But how big are we talking the stealth % to be able and disappear without "resists"? Even in combat.
I don't think you can hide while enemies see you.
The stealth skill is about the success percentage for hiding when you're out of enemy sight. It seems to make a difference whether you're in the light or in shadows.
I still have the issue where there is almost always a delay before stealth enables and I'm even able to stealth right in front of the monster. In BG2 when you hit the stealth button it lets you know immediately whether you succeeded or not. In IWD it takes anywhere from 6-12 sec or so before anything happens. After I backstab a monster, I'll pause the game and hit the stealth button. From here I'll unpause the game and run around in circles and after several seconds I'll enter stealth even if there is monster right in front of me. Pretty weird. My assumption this isn't how its supposed to be. I think I read somewhere that Heart of Winter introduced this bug. Anyone else come across this stealth delay?
