Finding an old RPG for PC (Help needed)

Post by Fyrendos »

I posted this in the speak your mind section, but became unsure as to wether it was the right place to post it. So i bring my desperate plea to you!

I was just reminded recently of a rather old RPG i used to play on my computer when i was younger (Guess its from 1996-2002 or something)

I really got the urge to play it again, though i cannot recall the name, and thus not find it.

What i remember is that you could play as 4 characters. A knight, some rouge girl, a duck and some igor monster thing.

You start off by escaping a prison cell. Afterwards you travel by ship, something mysterious is going on at the ship and you have to solve it. After the ship you get to a town. thats about all i remember.

It is a third person RPG, about the same angle of viewing as Baldurs gate or Planescape torment. the atmosphere as i recall it is rather gloomy.

Can anyone give me some pinpointers as to what the game is called, or who published it?

Any help will be greatly appriciated!

Hmm...
Not ringing any bells..
However, you might want to try checking Good Old Games. They carry a lot of older titles that you can download for extremely reasonable prices.

This doesn't sound familiar to me at all, and I think I'd remember playing an RPG where I controlled a duck. Was it some sort of casual game, or an import from another country?

Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Well as far as i remember it was rather serious, not just casual, the duck was a rather serious one!

Im from denmark, and i played it on danish, but the produktion value was far too high for it to be a danish produktion at that time.
Thanks for trying to help though :3

Absolutely nothing springs to mind, but since You're here, You can try browsing through list of all RPGs that Mr. Buck has been compiling over the last decade.
Maybe one of them will ring a bell.

Have to admit, I don't remember ever even hearing about such game. Also, googling didn't bring any hits.

You could check this site, which has quite good list of RPGs. The main listing doesn't have any descriptions, but if you choose the list by certain alphabet, then you can see small description of each game.

The duck character makes me think it was based on the old Runequest PnP RPG, if that helps in any way

Did you find the game?

I'm also from Denmark and I do remember this game but unfortunately I can't remember the title. Perhaps it was something like "Sjælenes brønd" (well of souls)?

The game was based on the, in Scandinavia, pupular Swedish PnP game "Drager og dæmoner" (Dragons snd demons). And yes it was possible to play a duck even though the game itself was rather serious.
I think the Crpg was a Swedish production...

I remember seeing the game in my local library in Copenhagen, So perhaps you can find it by searching the homepages of the libraries?

As Rass said, its based on the Drakar och Demoner tabletop RPG.

I think I owned the computer game, but never really played it.
It's called "Drakar och Demoner: Själarnas Brunn" Not sure if it was ever released in english?

Googling it doesn't really give any useful info, just a bunch of discussions and torrents.

Here is a link to some extremely basic info about it though.
