Once you finish clearing all of Suldanessar you open up a set of stairs under the waterfall, once you take those stairs there's no turning back.

Actually, I don't think you can leave Suldanesslar. No turning back once you enter Chapter 7.
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.

Uhh, hate to say this, but I've managed to leave Suldanesselar even after I've gone into the tree. You just walk down the stairs and leave the way you came in...

sorry guys but your both incorrect...

you can go back and do anything except for chapter 4 and chapter 1 stuff....a few lil things like the early bodi stuff can also not be done but otherwise i have found no sub/small or NPC quests that can't be done in chapter 7...alltho there are sum NPC stuff that if you haven't done by chapter 7 then those peeps will have left your party or died...

and btw you can go back up till you kill the 3rd parisite on the Tree of Life...you can even kill it's protectors and leave it alive...but after you squash the 3rd paristie that's it...

Well, you wanted the spoiler.... Once you reach Hell. After defeating Irenicus on the Tree of Life (or whatever) you'll be whisked away to hell. From there, you can't turn back, and you'll be forced to to engage in a pathetic battle against Irenicus.
