Multiplayer on Windows 7

My friend and I want to play Icewind Dale multiplayer. Prior to our both upgrading to Windows 7 (I think) we managed to get it to work, once.

Now we can't. The port forwarding that worked last time doesn't seem to have any affect. Using Hamachi, I can see the game my friend is hosting, but I cannot connect to it.

Has anyone successfully played this game multiplayer on windows 7?

Same problem here on Win7, however if you have Win 7 pro or better you can download XP Mode from Microsoft and try that.

Download Windows XP Mode

I have not verified it works yet, let us know if it does.

I couldn't successfully launch the game in windows xp mode (though I didn't reinstall using that mode). The xp mode tutorial video did say that it was not designed for use with "3d intensive applications like games." We did finally get a game going though, using GameRanger.
