Awakenings: Just WTF is going on?

Well, I seem to be chugging along ok in this expansion. It seems much like Origins to me but with more fun armour abundant.

The new rune's and associated skills seem to be yet more wasted functions however as I already have 100 Magic and 50 Constitution and Mana without any of the hoo-ha of paying 20gp to fiddle about with runes for an extra +5 here or there.

Also, not very keen on the vast increase of 'fetch stuff for Wade to make stuff' and similar quests as, again, I seem fairly happy with what I have to be bothered with it all.

And also not too keen on quests that require I hand over all my gold. Kind of destroys the point of doing quests..?

Really like the ghost Dwaves though. This is exactly the kind of thing that can seperate a game from the crowd. They really should have concentrated on this aspect more and made the ghosts more of the quest than just hacking Darkspawn. Really lovely and atmospheric little surprise here.

All-in-all I found Awakenings to be more enjoyable than Origins by the end. I t left me with a mich nicer feeling that I had played something interesting and original. Might replay the expansion at some point!
