can't find cd...
I just installed bg 2 soa, with cd's (full install). I can make a character, but when i want to start the game asks me for cd2, even if it is in my cd drive... I have no clue what to do about this, can anyone help me?
I'm having a similar problem. I got the old 4-disc version of SoA years ago and I've enjoyed popping it in once a year or so to play. Recently I decided to buy the 4-in-1 box set, which includes BG1 with TotSC expansion and BG2 SoA with the ToB expansion.
I loaded ToB and when I tried to play it kept telling me to insert the expansion disc even though it was already in the tray.
My first instinct was to uninstall the game and then re-install with the single disc SoA that came in the box set, then try again. It does the same thing and tells me that I need to put in disc 2...even though the whole install came on one disc.
Is there an update or some kind of patch that will fix this? Or am I just that dumb with computers that I'm missing some obvious fix? I've wanted to play through ToB for years now so this is very frustrating...

It might not be the best solution, but you can download the game from Good Old Game (GOG.com) for $9.99, no discs needed as it's free of copy protection.

It works, or it has for me. I have all the disks, but no disk drive on my netbook, so downloaded it and have had no problems.Malaskari wrote:At this point I may just suck it up and do that. $9.99 is a small price to pay if it works.
Thanks!
