Hitpoint bug? (only gain 1 hitpoint at level)

Post by haecceitas »

My first post here, about time since I've been consulting this forum now and then for years.

I have a half-elf fighter/thief (multiclass) that only receives 1 hitpoint when the fighter class levels up. This wasn't the case during the first fighter levels, but when I've hit level 10 and 11 I've only got 1 hitpoint. I have reloaded the saves that I've made before the experience gain, but I simply can't roll higher than 1. No ability drain is in effect and my constitution is 15. I 've tried both core rules and normal rules.

I had the same problem with a ranger/cleric multiclass that I soloed a couple of levels. I stopped playing though because the measly 1 hitpoints each level was annoying. I didn't reflect on it then, but now I'm beginning to think it's a bug or a problem created by Baldurdash (don't mean to be sacreligious).

I am creating this thread in ToB forum because I have ToB installed, even though I'm playing my character through the original too.
I am running the latest patch and have also installed Baldurdash. I have some components of G3 tweaks installed upon this (female Edwina and higher item stacks in stores, I've also used but uninstalled Multiple Strongholds).

Does anyone recognize this problem? Or maybe have a theory on what is causing this?
Thanks

After a certain level, you start receiving much less health. That's all i have, as it's not a sorcerer related question..

1 hit point is a bit weird, but perhaps it's just bad luck with rolls?

Unrelated : I suggest using G3fixpack instead of baldurdash, unless you have reasons to use the 'dash.

That's normal, not a bug. Multiclasses always get only 1 HP at level up after level 9 (warrior, priest) or 10 (wizard, rogue).
Just look at the hitpoint tables in the back of your manual, single class fighters get only 3 HP after level 9, single class rogues only 2 HP after level 10, double class only half as much at each half level up, that's 1 HP.

Thanks a lot! Then I can continue without fear of being vulnerable late-game due to some bug, instead I'll be vulnerable due to the rules. But that suits me much better. :-)

I no longer have the manual, so that's why I didn't check there. From what I remember the manual also has a lot of errors.
