Can't Seem To Find My Way Around

Post by ve6tp »

I must be getting old.

I cannot seem to find how I can bring up a game walk through. I've clicked on every link and toolbar name but never able to get the actual walk through for a game.

If I could just get to one, I'd be OK I think.

Can someone show me the path to click on to get to the game walk throjugh for Witcher I please.

Thanks

I don't really understand your post, if I understand it correctly you want to know how to find the walkthrough for The Witcher?, you click on ''choose a site...'' under Banshee Network which is located under some facebook ''like'' button and other social networking stuff, from there you scroll down and click the Witcher, and it should take you to the Witcher subsite, there you just click walkthrough over in the left corner.

The walkthrough is here if you just wanted a link to it: The Witcher @ GameBanshee

Thanks Gartar:

Well that's what I used to do. But can't now.

I must have a setting somewhere either with my browser (Firefox v8.0.1) or it could have to do with the fact that I just recently installed Windows 7, 64 bit.

What happens now when I go BANSHEE NETWORK>CHOOSE GAME> is that no matter what game I do select, it comes up with a site that always shows "MOST RECENT ....(name of game) ......NEWS"

Every time I select a RPG in the "search" it always takes me to this site, never the walk through.

I've gone through the settings for Firefox and can't seem to see one that makes a difference.

Secondly, now when I go to the site you sent me (which was the one I wanted, thanks), the format displayed has changed. As you said, the display should show the information and map in the center and "Walk Through" ion the right hand side, but it doesn't. It shows the map, then the comments and then the Walk Through all towards the bottom of the page, not along the sides.

If it isn't my browser, then it has to be that I just recently installed Windows7, 64 bit. Is there a possibility that I have to set something up with that??

I really depend on Banshee for any Walk Through, but I can't get to any site on my own.

Thanks

I'm viewing the site using Firefox 8 and Windows 7 64-bit, and everything looks fine. Have you tried using another browser? Was your installation of Windows 7 an upgrade over an existing OS, or was it a fresh install on a new computer? If the former, maybe you need to reinstall Firefox.

Initially, I cleaned my Hard Drive completely and had a brand new Windows 7 Home Editon, 64 bit installed. So no previous installations of any kind.

I uninstalled my Firefox now and reinstalled it again. Same problem.

I tried it with I.E. latest version and the exact same display and problem esists.

In aperance, it's almost like there is a border on ech side tof the center part. Nothing can be shown to the left or right side of the center dispayed and cuts any part off that tries to continue showing beyond that.

Is there a "border" control setting??

I don't have any problem with anyh other sites showing fully across.

Is there a site you can give me that will let me download Firefox with 64 bit please? Or does that not matter?

I don't know much about troubleshooting in this environment, but I do help customers with Facebook apps. Based on your description, this sounds to me like either a connection error is preventing the page from loading fully, or something is interfering with JavaScript.

For JavaScript, you'll need to check all of your settings. Browser setting especially, and any plugins for the browser, but also AV, Firewall, parental controls, ad- and pop-up blockers, and so on. Anything which modifies your inte4rnet experience could potentially conflict.

For connection problems, you just have to simplify. Turn off all non-essential connections to see if the page loads, then slowly add things back in. This includes streaming audio and video, IM, VOIP, even additional browser tabs.

Oh, and not sure this will work, but here's a direct link to the walkthrough for The Witcher (Original Campaign): The Witcher @ GameBanshee .

Hi Lemmus

Thank you for the suggestions. I did shut down all the add-ons for Firefox but it made no difference.

Since I have the same problem using IE, I think it must be something else with the OS or maybe with my anti-virus program. I'll turn that off and see what happens.

And thanks for the link. I appreciated that.

Could I ask you to please give me one more walk through link for my new game?? It is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I know I would sure use that, and I've tried to get it on Gamebanshee, but no luck. Same problem.

Thanks so much.

For the problem, not sure but it may be related to the adverts problem the site is currently suffering from. For example several of us have the site almost unreadable due miscoloring of the links, white borders at the sides and so on. It has been confirmed that some of the ads are causing these problems.

Now, about Skyrim; unless I have missed something there is currently no walkthrough for Skyrim available here in GB yet. This is because it takes some time to actually make it due all the detailed maps and quest lists, and as Skyrim is quite huge came it most probably will take longer than with other games. Haven't seen any official confirmation if this is the case but as I have been here quite long I could guess from past experience that it holds true.

Thanks Kipi:

Your suggestion of what is causing the problem is encouraging. Since it is the only site that gives me this problem and is the same on another web browser, maybe this is the case.

If it is, other than keep on trying the site to see if it has been fixed, is there anything else I can do to be notified if the corrections to the site are done??

As for the game link ....

I had gone to the "Banshee Network window, scrolled for the game names and found "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" on the list. But yes, very new and maybe it is listed but not built yet.

Thanks a ton and if you hear any news about the site being fixed, maybe if you have the time, would you send me an e-mail to let me know please. My address is ve6tp@shaw.ca

Thanks again.

Skyrim has a subsite available, but right now it only has pages for races and perks. The walkthrough and equipment database will be a while yet. I might be able to open up the walkthrough as a work in progress in a week or so.
