Missing Link Question

Howdy, all,

So I'm just enjoying my first playthrough of Human Revolution, and had a quick question for those who have played it:

I'm just getting to the spot where I understand that the DLC canonically takes place. However, I also understand that the DLC is detached from the original game, not added in. For a first-time runthrough, would you advise playing through the original game, and then playing the DLC, or playing the DLC in its canonical place and then finishing the game?

It's a simple question, really. I don't want the DLC to spoil anything, but playing through where it belongs in the story really seems to make the most sense.... Thoughts?
